This MUST be the absolute best thing Iíve heard out of Italy. Yes, smartass, Iíve heard Lacuna Coil and they should quiver in fear of their countrymen.

Funereum has taken a few styles out there and made them completely their own by adding some trademark sounds and a fantastic indie recording style. Everything on this far-too-short 20 minutes of metal delight has a slightly removed or distant sound to it, giving it all the perfect atmosphere.

The vocal style vacillates from a choral clean to a vicious hardcore scream with just the right balance to keep the listener cheering for the return of each style.

The music is dynamically fantastic, with perfect tones, strokes and a unique vision. This is probably best represented in the final track, 'Nothingeverthingís Temple', where the guitars lay down riffs and hooks that will have you spinning.

Despite the fact that this demo has a few issues to clear up with the sound quality, the overall production here was excellent. This is one demo that is not to be missed, and I highly recommend you snag a copy if you can.

Bottom Line: This is a band that deserves some serious respect! Iím itching for full-length of their unique brand of melodic-hardcore-death metal mix.
