Review by Adam M on December 1, 2016.

Bombus performs a very Motorhead oriented take on heavy metal. There is a groove to their sound that is very infectious. It makes the sound huge and full of life overall.

The vibe is dirty and raucous and makes for the liveliness that the recording obtains. Like Motorhead, the songs are of the standard verse, chorus variety and vary little from a standard song structure. But, like that band, when the outfit stumbles upon something catchy it is carried forward into the forefront. This can be seen from the track Rust, for example, which sways forward in an addictive manner. The songs are certainly catchy and manage to ingrain themselves in your brain. The song Deadweight, for example, has a manner of being memorable for the listener. The remainder of the tracks here are similarly memorable and will be playing in your head for some time to come. Not only that, but the band seems to be having a lot of fun with the songs, which lends it a comparison to AC/DC. This aspect of the band permeates their sound and allows them to perform the material with excitement and energy. The problem here is that the music is rather unoriginal. It has a vibe of being done before and there is certainly an undistinctive sound present overall. The songs are also rather short so they don’t have a lasting impact. These are small flaws when one considers all of the enjoyment that the band creates. There is an infectious aspect to the outfit that is simply undeniable. The amount of fun that is to be had outweighs any other facet of the music and makes this a great listen.

I simply had the time of my life listening to these songs and they are very unforgettable in nature. Repeat Until Death comes recommended to fans of Motorhead and AC/DC, but also just those that like an unadulterated sound to their music.
