MetalBite Review by JD on 4/4/2016
What have you got when you mix the heart of Ronnie James Dio, the vocal abilities of Janice Joplin with the power of Doro Pesch and the total conviction of Black Sabbath? You get a fourteen year old metal queen that will kick ass all over the world supported by a band that is talented beyond anything. And that just barely starts to explain what Motion Device is all about.

Hailing from Toronto, Canada, this band is comprised of young men and women aged from 14 to 21 and all dedicated to bringing metal and hard rock back and annex pop to the sidelines. They do that with music that is aggressive, with thoughtful lyrics and are full of passion that is the cornerstone of what hard rock/metal is. If you did not know what their ages were before listening to them you would think this was a band that has been out for years.

With 12 songs given here, it is a good chunk of music to be offered and each one seems to have its own engine that powers it into bringing you that real rock and roll speed train. Songs like the wise beyond their years 'Thick Skin' to the powerful ballad rocker 'Changing Minds' show a band on the way to being a contender for being the defenders of the faith in rock.

With an EP and now an album under their belts, the band from Toronto (14 year old Sara, 18 year old Andrea on bass and keys, 16 year old David on drums and 21 year old Josh and Alex on guitars) are poised to go far. If a major label does not pick them up they would be stupid to bypass this band who has one foot squarely in the future of hard rock and metal, the other planted in the teachings of metal’s finest – while having the limitless capacity to make the future truly the age of the Rock Revolution.
