Wolfheart has a nice melodic slant to their music. This is something that comes in close to melodic death metal, but Iím hesitant to throw it in that category. The signature catchy song-writing of the genre is foregone for something far more folk in nature. The music is still catchy, but it sounds more developed than the melodic death genre at a minimum.

This means there is capability of putting out epic arrangements and Wolfheart certainly delivers on this promise. The songs twist and wind down some memorable lanes in the most bombastic fashion possible to create this epic nature. The music is definitely one of a kind as well as it combines different sub-genres for maximum effect. This is refreshing to hear as many melodic death bands bridge the same sounds all the time and fail to be interesting. The music here is certainly compelling with itís more complex song structures and different shades of melody. The band brings this variety from the outset and builds upon it throughout the disc. Though the band is complex enough, they bring a very memorable standpoint to the table. These are songs that one will remember and that make an impact.†† The sound of the band is huge in a way that also makes it difficult to associate it with melodic death metal. The songs bring a massive feel to them making them larger than life.

The overall effect of the band is a very pleasant one to listen to. One will return to the album simply because itís so uplifting in nature. The melodic beauty of the band can be found from the track The Flood of which there is a video for. Itís an exemplary showcase of what this band is about. Wolheart have certainly mined a very special place with Tyhjyys.
