MetalBite Review by JD on 5/15/2013
I remember the amazing band known as Sanctuary with great respect and admiration. The massively good album "Into The Mirror Black" still holds a spot on my top ten of all times list with honour, as that band was the best ever to come out of Seattle (sorry Nirvana... you totally sucked). Out of the ashes of that band near sudden break down, Warrel Dane and Jim Sheppard decided to form the massively impressive band that most metalheads know and love: Nevermore. The talent continued.

With sweeping riffs and heavy constant beats backed by strong and anger fuelled vocals, Nevermore shows you exactly what metal can do. They combine brutal Power, some older school Trash, a smattering of Groove metal all the while using their own contributions of sweeping Neo-classical metal with heavy Progressive styled elements into what is now known as Nevermore.

This album is chalked full of extraordinary tracks, most of them can be declared simply put as being beyond the term amazing. Born opened up the album with a blasting onslaught of drums that pounded me into submission right before the wicked riffs of guitars captured me and spurred me on to listen more. Other tracks here are as good and make for an album that is a true gem to hear, but I simply love the album opener the opener the most out of them all.

I still like the power Sanctuary had as a band better, and am happy to hear that they go out and play sometimes, but mark my words - Nevermore still kicks serious fuckin’ ass and are making metal stronger with each album they give to the headbanging faithful. This is Metal at its shining best, with musicians that are so better than most others out there that have an eye on the future.

Metal is in good hands… Horns high!!
