Yet another Swedish act, and quite good, really. One may question, did Floridian swamps take all good bands to grave, or is it Swedish much colder climate hibernating swarm of bands coming now from Northern Europe?
I'm 'Buried' in this fresh swirl of Swedish death metal, super fast and furious melodic death trash, to be exact. Since band's beginning in 2000, My Own Grave
earned its progress thru releasing 4 demo tapes (such was 'the procedure' in good old days, and if a band finally put out an album it meant that that something was good). Yes, definitely one can love that meat, especially because guys prepared it by their own recipe, and what a dish it is. I've read some other reviewer almost swearing that My Own Grave
sounds like another Swedish act, Aeon
. Well, anyway I think they swayed away from Scandinavian standards a bit. This is tempo of the damned; the low tuned guitars assault your ears with howling but melodic riffs, bass that is easily recognizable trembles your guts; frenzy, crispy drums attack you along with harsh vocal delivery. Production-wise I am not finding any complaints at all.
Only 5 tracks of swift Svensk attack here, but as somebody said: less is more. Good job, can't wait for the next one.
