Artistry is something that is lacking in metal at times. I didn’t mean just plainly in the way of originality. I mean when a band can bring something wild and interesting to the table and that grows and becomes strong... it makes metal become bigger and better.
are a band that comes at you from a different tilt that most. Little light breaks that not so subtly end up crashing into a metallic vortex of strength and destruction, combination of Death/Black and Experimental Metal shocks and yet seems to fuels this welling of strong passion for what metal can evolve into. Powerful and complex, each song on the album along with each interlude as well - all of it seems to effortlessly flow into one another with powerful fluency.
Songs like the neck-breaking ‘War’ thunders out with melody tinged aggression while the "uber" ‘Childhurt’ (hat I can only describe as Cradle O Filth
meeting King Diamond
over a bottle of good stiff whiskey) really dies comes out and assaults you from every angle. It is over the top, expansively and surprisingly heavy but still holds a deep profoundness as well.
are harsh, abrasive and as mean as a pack of Pitbulls that have not eaten in a very long time... but they do hold a watershed of talent. They may be odd but I challenge you to actually define what it is to be odd. Bottom line is that this band is odd and yet artistically driven, and simply screamed out to be listened to.
