is Common Grave
's sophomore output. Upon hearing the intro I thought I was in for some sort of Industrial/Electronic experience, but it soon became apparent that it was actually Brutal Death Metal... on LSD.
Every instrument, though playing together frequently exploded in bouts of individual insanity- a flurry of fingers over the fretboard or an unrelenting concentration of single-handed rolls, gnawing away at the cymbals. Possessed highs appear amongst guttural lows whilst the machine-like drums never stop to take a breath. This mish-mash of technical babble is still somehow still held together by the more constant riffing and overall structure of song, and goes on until I start to feel a sense of cerebral burn-out.
Maybe I don't have enough neurons connected in my brain to enjoy this as some may, but I feel that this is likely too much 'garbage' on anybody's pizza. Minus this overstimulation the riffs are not bad and the playing is as good as can be expected.
