I am all for pressing the envelope and shit like that, but I also know when there is too much of a good thing. Italy has released a very unusual group on to an naive and unsuspecting musical landscape... and we all better duck as At The Soundawn comes in for a landing!

I started to listen to this Post Rock/Post Metal Progressive band, not knowing one thing about them. I was surprised at what I had just gotten. Sounding like this odd amalgamation of free jazz on really bad drugs with a screamer for a vocalist and some slight touches of real rock smattered through. Makes it so clear to me as I listened to this album... this band has not even a single clue to what they are doing.

I want to scream at this peice of garbage... ‘Get a direction’ even as the CD played on. Did not help screaming that to the empty room around me, let me tell you. I think Homer Simpson’s thought processes after twenty pints at Moe’s are more clear than this band. With no clue to the music, and the lyrics trying to sound intelligent and thought-provoking but actually fell really short... At The Soundawn was one of those bands that are very hard to get through even once.

I am not too sure of what the Italian band was trying to do... but if it was to confuse and put off true rock fans from music forever.... they have done their job. If it was not their reason for putting out this album, it looks like this was a band that has fallen flat on their collective asses, and they cannot get up and for the real music lovers... is a good thing.
