MetalBite Review by Adam M on 10/10/2010
Enslaved have a varied discography and they’ve only expanded upon it with "Axioma Ethica Odini". "Vertebrae" was slightly more laid back and though the band still wanders into other dimensions from time to time here, there is an added intensity to be found. It’s a welcome trait for the new album because it makes it more potent to the listener.

I think there were strong tracks throughout, but highlights included the opening and closing track amongst others. I found there was a huge punch in the first song that twisted continuously into more interesting directions as it progressed. The last track, 'Lightening' has a dreamy aura that perfectly concludes the remainder of the adventurous rhythms that are found in the middle of the album. The band is still somewhat dark sounding and carries this atmosphere throughout the work. The quick picking of the guitar at times enhances the aura they try to constantly deliver to the listener. The influence of older progressive rock bands can still be found as well and adds further depth to the magnitude of "Axioma Ethica Odini". I enjoy how Enslaved always manages to add new directions and textures into each album and this one is no different.

Though I still believe some of their other works like "Vertebrae", "Mardraum" and "Below The Lights" are about equally magnificent, the material found on this album is still mesmerizing and throws something new onto the table. This goes to continually prove how creative a Enslaved are and how they may only improve in the future. "Axioma Ethica Odini" is strong throughout and contains many memorable riffs and moments. I believe it will easily be one of the greatest albums of this year and have an impact for ages to come.
