I had reviewed this one man outfit on the another album about two years ago I think, and really loved it. With the next installment in my hands, I was stoked to finally have it. It was my first foray into what he had coined “Blackened Military Metal” was. A new demon had been spawned.
The music has become heavier, more brutal yet has also come around to being in a league of itself. With devastating dark power and some of the smartest lyrics that has been recorded this one man band has come even closer to the total metallic domination of the world he so was striving for. Being that it is a ‘concept’ album from start to finish, this metal innovator has achieved what he had been set out to do.
With eight amazingly strong songs that do not really fit into any framework of metal he is actually forging a new a new style of music. It takes this whole Black/Death metal sort of thing that puts military beats and a dark take on folk lore styled lyrics then add in energy and vitality of a force that is almost overwhelming. And there is where you have a sort of birth. A bouncing baby new sub-genre that has been created for all of us to enjoy... and the mindless religious lambs of the Earth to fear.
I have seen the evolution of metal over the many years I have played it on various stages, listened to it for hours on end, to simply loving it all of that time. Malpurtuus
has come up with a new twist, and never once dumbed it down one bit. Speaking for all the metalheads out there for the time being - I say to Malpurtuus
... thank you. Horns up!!!
