Metal in all of its forms, still excite me and moves me after so many years in the business. That is why when I find a band that is so incredible, I love my job even more, and when they are in the city I live in - I feel a pride like no other. Saskatoon based Doom merchants, Lavagoat
is a band that really stands out and raises the metallic flag high and proudly.
Slow and lumbering style yet delivering a massively heavy attack that is so brilliantly chalked full of melody and complexities with each note they produce, Lavagoat
is the poster children for what metal should be. With massively strong songs paired with this sound that is like a Brontosaurus after swallowing Black Sabbath
in one gulp... this band makes Doom metal into a pure art form, and accessible to all.
Just behold the Doomy beauty of a song like 'The Witch'. A song that has such intense melody and yet heavy enough to set off any seismic fault line in a thousand mile span Or check out the intelligent pummelling assault of the track 'Rome'. This song with its relentless and ruthless rhythms, is a slow paced cranium melting masterpiece, delivered by a band that has pure talent and all of the attitude to match up to anyone out there. It is this trait, that make me realize how good Lavagoat
I can't say enough of this bandís prowess, or their dedication. Lavagoat
is one of those bands who bridges out to all followers of metal and makes them feel at home. I only hope that they are signed soon... if I had the money, and my own record label, Iíd do it in a heartbeat. This band is just that fucking good and that is the best news I can give to you all.
