This album shows the band releasing a more subtle and subdued listen. There is certainly a very chill flavor to what is to be found here. The music is very atmospheric and will have a huge impact upon you. There is very little that has changed with the band, but this is an important album because the one following it would be less interesting.
The musicianship is solid as usual and the instruments are able to shine through and have an ability to make their mark. There is a very subdued feeling here and this makes the work very unique and special. There is not a huge difference to what they had been previously doing and this makes the album sound a bit redundant even though it is nicely produced.
The problem with the disc lies in its inability to innovate which makes it less interesting than other works like Otta, for example. There is a great amount of nostalgia as seen with the work because it has a very familiar feeling to it. This is certainly a welcome addition to the band’s discography.
Overall, this was a very solid album with a subtle feel. It was one of the more calm albums the band has done. It is very subdued and will make its mark over time. There are plenty of strong moments on the album that will enrapture you. This is still one of the best albums by the band and highly worth listening to.
