Review by Adam M on June 21, 2025.

This album has a powerful and also at times subtle aura and is one of the cornerstones of the band’s discography as it gives us resonant performances.  The band’s sound is perhaps a bit more subdued at times on the album.  There’s a modern feel to the album that makes it quite a standout work.  The mood is nice and serene and makes for good background music.  The sparse sound of the tunes is a highlight as the band has found a nice medium for their experiments.

The musical performances are strong as usual for the band a quite a highlight.  Some of the song like “Atlantic” are more subdued by the band and show a gentler side.  All in all, this is a very well performed work, but not a huge step on their other material.  It is quite a well-refined gem of an album and something to be proud of by the band.

The obvious flaw to be found here is the lack of the power and might to be found here at times that is more present on their previous albums like Pelagial.  It is an album that lacks a big heavy sound to move it forward.  This makes the album more of a gentle experience, but this is still interesting.  Even with the flaws it is still a pretty strong work.

All in all, this is a great album that has all the right elements to make for a complete release.  It is one of the better albums of recent times and something to be appreciated although not the best album of the outfit this work is still quite strong.
