Review by Adam M on June 26, 2025.

This album represented a step up for the band and is an atmospheric affair that is filled with a folk-influenced vibe.  It is a consistently thoughtful affair that remains high in their canon for good releases.  It is a dark album and along with To The Nameless Dead a good example of their albums from the past.

In terms of musicianship there is a collection of guitars into a more interesting whole that displays the band dabbling in the guitar work in an interesting and enjoyable fashion.  The vocals are also high point with a dynamic display that is typical of the band.  There is a collection of instrumentation that is compelling and remarkable to listen to.

In terms of flaws, the album is not as atmospherically poignant as To the Nameless Dead or Redemption at the Puritan’s Hand.  It is perhaps their third most potent album ahead of Spirit the Earth Aflame.  This leaves a whole lot to be desired and the band would go onto better things in the future.

All in all,  this was a superb album that represented a high point for thje band and showed them at a very peaked point.  It is not their best, but great and highly worth reviewing.  Fans of the namechecked albums will find something to like here.
