What do have Metallica in common with Nunslaughter? Em, musically almost nothing, maybe some thrashier parts in the songs (of course when it comes to old Metallica up to "…And Justice For All") but if you have a look on metal-archives you can clearly notice the sheer amount of releases both bands did in the past. Okay, maybe Agathogles are in the same league too. But actually I don't have so much time to count who is the release champion here.

So here we go with the new regular album by American legends Nunslaughter. Existing for over 40 years the guys just delivered their sixth full-length album. Fortunately that releasing speed doesn't have any effort on the speed the guys are playing with their "Devil Metal" as they call their style of music themselves.

If you know Nunslaughter you know what you are getting while listening to their music. Most ultra-fast songs like the opener "Satanic Chaos Legions" or the quite short "Jesus Fucking Dies" are some sort of pure blast beat inferno that doesn't make any prisoner but only fucking kills. I could mention all other tracks with the same stylistic approach also but I guess that would be slightly unnecessary. What I personally really like is that, despite all the harsh death-black attacks, the songs are still super catchy, sometimes even quite groovy. One good example is "Cathedral Of Stench" with a more punkish / thrash metal approach. I wonder if the guys were with me on my last school trip and also visited the boys' rooms in the morning. That would explain the wonderful song title – if you have a 13-year old teenager hanging around at home, you probably know what I'm talking about.

But apart from the fast tracks, some slower tracks also crept in on "Satanic Chaos Legions" such as "Peukharist" which starts very gloomy with some more industrial metal sound or "Heavenless". But this isn't some sort of quality decline but shows another sinister facet of Nunslaughter. Are the faster songs some kind of fast decapitation with a guillotine, these two tracks are as if you were put into a giant meat grinder and are slowly processed to minced human meat. Alive of course.

After "Cathedral Of Stench" the guys had to get away quite fast it seems. The last three songs have a running time between 1 up to 1 ½ minutes. It seems that the stench was unbearable. That's the reason why I confiscated all the cheap stinking perfume during the school trip.

If you want a fast black-death inferno with cool, blasphemous titles and lyrics paired with a very good production, "Satanic Chaos Legions" is just the right thing to blast you away. I am really looking forward to see the guys next Saturday at "Under The Black Sun" festival near Berlin!
