MB Premiere: AABODE - 'Neo-Age' full album stream

Today, in cooperation with Godz Ov War Productions, we are thrilled to premiere the AABODE's debut full-length album Neo-Age, due to be released on December 4th, 2024 on CD and digital formats.

AABODE's Neo-Age is an industrial death metal offering that showcases a blend of crushing riffs, electronic elements, and a dark atmosphere. This French duo, consisting of Aabstracter on instruments and Aabyssal on vocals, delivers a sonic experience that is both intense and experimental. The meticulous production, handled by AABODE, and the distinct artwork by Stefan Thanneur, further enhance the overall impact of this release.

Painting a new world filled with automated artillery, glitched cadavers, analog horror and dissonant riffs, fans of the avant-garde metal scene will find AABODE's debut full-length a worthy addition to their collection.

AABODE is:

Aabstracter - Guitars, Bass, Beats
Aabyssal - Vocals, Electronics

MB on Spotify - April summary

Greetings, fellow metalheads!

I've decided to follow the latest trends and become as unpredictable as... well, everything. So, surprise, you're getting a summary of releases from April.

And it was a really good month. To be honest this year already feels like it's packed with a lot of albums which I like. Last month's full-lengths came from Warfield, Frantic Amber, Fractal Universe, Bleed from Within, Benediction, Allegaeon, Imperishable, Epica, LIK, Dormant Ordeal, Machine Head, Ghost, Employed to Serve, Deserted Fear, Coffin Feeder, Changeling, Cancer and Caliban. And these are only the ones that I've managed to get familiar with so far. And I'm sure there are plenty of more gems hidden there, so get mining:

The line-up of EPs is always a bit shorter, which makes it easier for me to list all the bands included. In April we've got releases in this format from Saqraruna, Rottenness, Godless, Fluisteraars, Deathrot, Goat Rider, Pridian, Dream Evil, Cardinal Fleet, Blizzard Hunter, Unidad Trauma, Gama Bomb, Face Yourself, Prognan, Einsamkeit, Beholder's Cult, Jackal's Backbone, Ancst, This Ending, Profanatica, Northvoid, Jewel Throne, Gorgon and Underwater Father. Which also proves we haven't ran out of ideas for band names yet. We might be close, but not there yet. Here's the easily digestible almost 7-hour playlist:

Now, the singles. Out of 227 tracks (at least as of the time of writing this) the ones I have to mention are Candlemass, Battle Symphony, Mystic Circle (cover of Iron Maiden's "Afraid to Shoot Strangers" with Sarah Jezebel Deva, what a surprising concoction!), Voivod (cover of Ramones' "Zero Zero UFO", again, took me by surprise), Igorrr, Humanity's Last Breath, Volbeat, Crematory, Necrotted (with guest vocals from Sven from Aborted/Coffin Feeder), Necrophobic, Behemoth, Sodom, Shadow of Intent (with guest vocals from Corpsegrinder from Cannibal Corpse), Heaven Shall Burn, Gaahls WYRD, Upon a Burning Body, King Parrot, BAEST, Massacre, Byzantine, Cryptopsy, Vader (anthem for the upcoming Mystic Festival, first track officially with 3 guitarists after return of Mauser to the line-up!), Nightfall, Lord Belial, Fallujah, Rivers of Nihil, Fallcie, Hate, ...and Oceans, Sabaton, Primal Fear, Bury Tomorrow, Alukah and The Haunted. Just looking at this list I already know this year is going to bring even more amazing tunes. All prophets of good times to come can be found here:

I've come across only one split from April and it was "Split 2025" from Mo'ynoq and Urocyon:

I've got some live recordings for you as well, considering that with climate change we might get warmer weather quicker, it might be worth to start practicing all festival-worthy skills right now. And the exercise materials released in April include Alcatrazz, Avaland, Battle Beast, Chat Pile, Cirith Ungol, Diamond Head, Imperial Age, Kanonenfieber, Lunar, Osiah, The Progressive Souls Collective, Ripped to Shreds, Rotting Christ, Saxon, Shores of Null, Spiritus Mortis and Wormrot. I guess that provides good range of windmill-headbanging tempos to choose your preferred difficulty:

Now, some older tunes which are somewhere on the spectrum between being slightly dusted off through dismantled and put back together with extra layers added to material which was just tossed into the bin and re-created from memory. Bands who decided to share their refreshed older material in April were Actum Inferni, Akral Necrosis, Asgard, Celestial Sanctuary, Delain, The Halo Effect, Massacred, Meshuggah, Metalian, Metallica, Onslaught, Swallow the Sun, Underside and Vrede. Don't forget to imagine hearing a harp sound before pressing "play" on the playlist below:

Thanks for checking in, keep an eye on our profile on Spotify to stay up to date. As you can see you can't rely on these summaries to appear regularly. Remember to share all the lists above with as many ears as possible, send the creators some form of appreciation and, as usual, remember to mosh responsibly.

Your fellow metalhead,

Maciek
